Stefan Rahimi

Stefan Rahimi is Assistant Professor of Atmospheric Science at the University of Wyoming and UW Derecho Professor, with a joint appointment at UCLA Center for Climate Science. His research focuses on high-resolution regional climate modeling to understand climate change impacts on weather extremes and water resources.

Recent publications demonstrate leadership in the Western U.S. Dynamically Downscaled Dataset (WUS-D3) project, with applications to California's Climate Assessments. Research addresses snowpack dynamics, atmospheric rivers, and compound climate extremes across western North America.

Collaborates with UCLA Center for Climate Science on national climate databases for infrastructure planning. Leads research on climate literacy initiatives and partners with water resource agencies to translate climate science for decision-makers.
