Stanley Mills

Stanley Mills is a Lecturer in Operating Department Practice (ODP) at Staffordshire University’s Health, Education, Policing and Sciences School. He transitioned from clinical practice to academia, driven by a passion for education and mentoring ODP students. Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), he holds a CertEd in Post Compulsory Education and Training and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

Research & Expertise: Specializes in anaesthetic practice, recovery care, simulation training, and leadership in healthcare education. Leads academic modules and recruitment for Staffordshire’s ODP program, emphasizing dynamic educational practices and community outreach to promote ODP careers.

Achievements:

• Recipient of Whatuni Student Choice Awards 2023 for Facilities and Social Inclusion (institutional recognition)
• Contributed to Staffordshire University’s “Outstanding” Research Impact rating (Times and Sunday Times 2023) and “World Leading” Research Excellence Framework 2021

Leadership & Teams: Serves on the Trust’s Simulation Faculty and as Clinical Lead for Anaesthetics. Coordinates partnerships with hospitals and colleges to enhance ODP recruitment and awareness.
