Stan Muncy

Stan Muncy is a Lecturer at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, teaching percussion in both the Pre-College and Continuing Education departments. He is also a regular extra percussionist with the San Francisco Symphony and has collaborated with ensembles such as the Santa Rosa Symphony, Skywalker Studios, and the Grammy-winning group eighth blackbird.

Muncy specializes in percussion performance, film and video game scoring, and contemporary music. He has recorded for major labels like NAXOS, SFSMedia, and DELOS, and his work spans classical, choral, and avant-garde genres.

Notable collaborations include recordings with the San Francisco Symphony (Copland's Symphony No. 3, Harrison's Concerto for Organ with Percussion Orchestra), tours with eighth blackbird, and contributions to electronic music projects addressing the climate crisis.
