Stacy R. Minger

Dr. Stacy R. Minger serves as Associate Professor of Preaching at Asbury Theological Seminary, where she has been a core faculty member since 2004. Ordained as an elder in the United Methodist Church since 1991, she bridges academic rigor with practical ministry experience through pastoral work and community engagement.

Her educational foundation includes:

• B.A. in Religion & Sociology/Psychology from Hope College (1986)
• M.Div. from Asbury Theological Seminary (1989)
• D.Min. from Asbury Theological Seminary (1998)
• Ph.D. from the University of Kentucky (2004)

Dr. Minger's research centers on communication dynamics within homiletics, with specialized focus on financial stewardship pedagogy. Her award-winning dissertation Preaching Biblical Financial Stewardship for the Whole-Person Response established her expertise in integrating theological principles with practical financial discipleship. Current work examines how message reception theory informs sermon effectiveness across diverse congregational contexts.
