Stacey Fox is a Professor in the Department of Journalism at Michigan State University (MSU) and is affiliated with the Knight Center for Environmental Journalism. She is a multidisciplinary artist, educator, and technologist who teaches courses in Animation, Motion Capture Research, Scoring for Moving Pictures, and Music of the Earth's Biomes.

Fox’s research focuses on translating science into the public sphere through the visual and performing arts, including exploring environmental issues, the impact of sound on Earth and outer space, and the use of indigenous rhythmic and vocal patterns in creative and healing processes. Her work intersects with extended realities (XR), immersive storytelling, and astrophotography.
She has received funding from NASA, National Science Foundation (NSF), National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), Smithsonian Institution, and other major institutions. Her projects have been showcased globally at venues like the National Museum of the American Indian, National Museum of Natural History, and Gifu Performing Arts Center-Japan.
Fox is also a classically trained percussionist and researcher with affiliations to organizations such as:
