Stacey Davidson

Stacey Davidson is an Associate Professor of Fine Arts at Winthrop University, located in Rock Hill, South Carolina. She previously taught at institutions such as the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, University of Wisconsin-Stout, Carleton College, and Normandale Community College. She holds an M.F.A. in Painting from the University of Cincinnati and a B.F.A. in Painting from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA).

Her research and creative work focuses on painting, with exhibitions in prominent institutions like the Minneapolis Institute of Arts and the Cleveland Museum of Art. She is represented by Marlborough Gallery, NY, and has showcased solo exhibitions internationally, including at Marlborough Fine Art, Ltd. in London (2010).

Davidson has received notable awards, including fellowships from the McKnight Foundation, Bush Foundation, and Minnesota State Arts Board. Her creative practice also extends to interdisciplinary performance, such as her 2011 performance at Toy Theater After Dark. She recently secured a grant from the Arts & Science Council, Charlotte/Mecklenburg Inc., and is preparing new work for an exhibition at Staniar Gallery, Washington and Lee University (2013).
