Stacey Campbell

Dr Stacey Campbell is a Senior Lecturer and researcher in early childhood education at the School of Education, Queensland University of Technology (QUT). She specializes in language, literacy, and teaching professional practice, serving as the Master of Teaching (Early Childhood) course coordinator. Her academic focus spans early childhood education, literacy development, and reading/writing difficulties, with a particular emphasis on phonics, phonological awareness, and parent-teacher partnerships.

Stacey holds a PhD in Early Childhood Research, a Master of Arts in Children’s Literature, and qualifications in primary and early childhood education. She has over ten years of experience as an early childhood teacher and director in New South Wales, alongside roles in primary education. Her recent graduate certificates in business leadership and academic teaching highlight her commitment to professional development.

Her research employs mixed methods to study early childhood literacy, with peer-reviewed articles in top-tier journals. Awards include the Faculty of Education Real World Teaching Award (2019, 2020). She has held editorial roles for journals like *Literacy Research: Theory, Methods, and Practice* and *The Reading Teacher*, and co-edited *Practical Literacy: The Early and Primary Years*. She developed the MOOC *Teaching Phonics in Early Childhood*, engaging over 80,000 participants globally.
