Stacey Berry

Stacey Berry is the Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences and a Professor of English at Dakota State University. She has held these roles since 2010 and previously worked at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Northern Illinois University. Her academic career combines literary analysis with digital humanities methodologies.

Stacey Berry's educational background includes a Ph.D. in English from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (2007), an M.A. in English from Northern Illinois University (2002), and a B.A. in English from Stephen F. Austin State University (1996).

Berry's research focuses on digital humanities initiatives, particularly the digitization of historical records related to the Hiawatha Insane Asylum. This project, involving students through the Research Assistant and Mentor Program (RAMP), aims to preserve and make accessible thousands of government documents. Her work bridges literary analysis with archival preservation, emphasizing Indigenous histories and cultural studies.
