Srinidi Mohan

Srinidi Mohan is a Professor and Chair in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Administration at the University of Maine’s Graduate School of Biomedical Science and Engineering. He holds a B.Sc. (2000) and M.Sc. (2003) from the University of Madras, India, and a Ph.D. from Mississippi State University (2006). His research focuses on drug delivery, genomics, molecular biology, proteomics, and cancer biomarkers, with a specialization in estrogen-negative breast cancer diagnostics.

Dr. Mohan’s work has led to patents for methods in cancer detection and treatment monitoring (e.g., U.S. Patents 10,073,099 and 11,009,507). His peer-reviewed publications (2011–2020) emphasize novel biomarkers, metabolic pathways, and diagnostic tools for estrogen-negative cancers. Key contributions include developing competitive ELISA methods and identifying N-hydroxy-L-arginine as an ethnic-specific biomarker.

He has received grants for breast cancer research, including funding highlighted in Associated Press coverage (2017). His lab’s research bridges molecular mechanisms and clinical applications, addressing challenges in cancer detection and therapeutic efficacy.
