Dr. Sophie Read is an Associate Professor at The Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London (UCL), where she serves as Programme Director of the BSc in Architectural & Interdisciplinary Studies. She leads a team of 20 academics delivering innovative modules in architectural research, design, and creative practice. Her interdisciplinary research examines architectural history through performance studies, feminist theory, and art practice, with a focus on John Soane's lectures and the politics of architectural drawing collections.
Dr. Read holds a Doctor of Philosophy (2018) and Master of Arts (2010) from University College London, and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Camberwell College of Art (2007). She previously served as Lecturer (Teaching) at The Bartlett and coordinated postgraduate research programmes for five years.
