Solveig Sarah Suess

Solveig Sarah Suess is an Artist-in-Residence and Visiting Assistant Professor at NYU Shanghai, with a focus on Interactive Media Arts. She is also a PhD candidate in Urban Studies at the University of Basel, contributing to interdisciplinary research at the intersection of technology, emotion, and geopolitics.

Her research investigates Environmental Media, Feminist Science and Technology Studies (STS), and Experimental Documentary Filmmaking, with a focus on techno-political landscapes and postcolonial spatial dynamics. Her work often explores how technological systems shape emotional geographies, particularly through infrastructural projects like the Mekong River transformations.

Suess's publications examine themes such as transnational infrastructures, planetary ecological systems, and critical media practices. Her projects span film installations, archival research, and theoretical writing, bridging media arts, urban studies, and feminist critique.
