Solveig Klaßen is an Assistant Professor in Documentary Film Production at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne, where she has been a Research Fellow in the film department since 2004. She also serves as the Vice-Rector for Teaching and Studies, overseeing academic operations.

Notable awards include the Bavarian Documentary Film Prize, the Youth Jury Prize at the International Leipzig Festival, and a nomination for the Joris Ivens Award. She has been a jury member for international film festivals and contributed to projects like “Hollywood in Nigeria” (2003).
