Skye Stephens is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Saint Mary’s University (Halifax, Nova Scotia) and a Clinical Forensic Psychologist in Nova Scotia. She holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Ryerson University and is pursuing a part-time MA in Global Development Studies. She serves as Associate Editor for Archives of Sexual Behavior and is an editorial board member for Sexual Abuse and Sexual Offending: Theory Research and Prevention.
Her research focuses on conceptualizing, assessing, and managing atypical sexual interests in forensic and clinical populations, particularly regarding sexual interest in children. Recent work emphasizes prevention programs for childhood sexual abuse perpetration, including launching the Talking for Change initiative. She actively supervises graduate and undergraduate students in forensic psychology, emphasizing research mentorship and lab involvement.
As a clinician, she provides evidence-based assessments and treatments in forensic, hospital, and private practice settings, specializing in risk assessment and mental health disorders. She also presents clinical workshops for professionals and law students.
