Anthony Robert Beech

Prof. Anthony Robert Beech is a Visiting Professor of Forensic Psychology at UCLan Cyprus and Emeritus Professor at the University of Birmingham. Holding a D.Phil. from the University of Oxford and a B.Sc. from the University of East London, he is a Chartered Psychologist and Fellow of the British Psychological Society. His research focuses on criminological psychology, neurobiological bases of offending, and online child exploitation. He has held leadership roles such as Head of the Centre for Forensic & Criminological Psychology at Birmingham.

Teaching responsibilities include modules on Risk Assessments and Violent/Sexual Offenders Interventions at UCLan. His extensive publications (over 200 articles) and authored books include Handbook of Forensic Neuroscience and Forensic Psychology textbooks. He has secured £multi-million grants for research into offender treatment and risk assessment.

Prof. Beech has received prestigious awards including the ATSA Fellowship and Senior Award from the BPS Division of Forensic Psychology. He serves on editorial boards of journals like Sexual Abuse and Psychology, Crime and Law. His work bridges neuroscience, clinical practice, and policy, addressing critical issues in sexual offender management and prevention strategies.
