Simona Staffieri

Simona Staffieri, PhD, is an adjunct professor specializing in Statistics and Tourism disciplines. She holds positions at Sapienza University of Rome (Faculty of Arts and Humanities), Roma Tre University, and NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences. Her roles include adjunct professorships in Statistics for Tourism (2015–2017), Economics of Tourism (2017–2019), and Statistics (2019–2020). She is a researcher at Italy’s National Statistical Institute (since 2002) and an external member of the Sustainability in Hospitality and Tourism Research Group.

Education includes a PhD in 'Research Methods for the Analysis of Socio-Economic Change' (Sapienza, 2013), and advanced degrees in Statistics and Social Research. Her research focuses on youth tourism, cultural well-being, sustainable tourism practices, and gender dynamics in leisure. She has contributed to projects on local food consumption and health/disability statistics.

Her publications analyze tourism behavior, cultural policy impacts, and sustainability frameworks. Notable awards include the 2018 Best Paper Award (Journal of Tourism Futures) and the 2015 CHME Best Paper Award.
