Simon Learmount

Simon Learmount is an Associate Professor in Corporate Governance at the University of Cambridge's Judge Business School, where he serves in the Organisational Theory and Information Systems subject group. He holds an MBA and PhD from the University of Cambridge and is a Fellow of both the Centre for Business Research (CBR) and Pembroke College. His professional background includes leadership roles as Director of Operations at Saxoncourt and Director of Sales and Marketing at International Packaging.

His research examines:

• Convergence of national corporate governance systems
• HRM's impact on organisational trust, co-operation, and commitment
• Japanese corporate structures and corporate ownership concepts
• Sustainability reporting and climate governance

He co-chairs the World Economic Forum's Climate Governance Community of Experts, focusing on equipping board members with climate-change expertise. Awards include the 1998 Shimomura Fellowship at the Development Bank of Japan.

He actively contributes to the Cambridge Corporate Governance Network and media discourse on ethical leadership, corporate accountability, and tech industry governance.
