Simon Fischer

Simon Fischer is a Professor at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, specializing in Violin Performance and Pedagogy. He holds dual roles as a performer and educator, with a career spanning international recitals, orchestral collaborations, and teaching. His work unites French, Russian, and American violin traditions.

Education: Studied under Yfrah Neaman in London and Dorothy DeLay in New York.

Research focuses on violin technique, chamber music interpretation, and innovative teaching methods. His publications include Basics, The Violin Lesson, and DVDs on tone production, widely adopted globally.

Awarded the 2014 European String Teachers Association prize for lifetime contribution to string teaching. He has directed orchestras, led masterclasses worldwide, and performed with orchestras like the Philharmonia and Royal Philharmonic.
