Silvia Careddu is an internationally acclaimed flutist and academic figure, currently serving as Flute Professor at the École Normale de Musique Alain Cortot in Paris. She holds the Principal Flute position with the Orchestre National de France since 2021, following prestigious engagements with the Wiener Philharmoniker, Wiener Staatsoper, and Konzerthausorchester Berlin. Her career began with an emphatic victory at the 56th Geneva International Music Competition, earning both First Prize and Audience Prize.
Her educational background includes a distinguished graduation from the Conservatoire de Musique et de Danse de Paris. From 2009–2022, she taught at Berlin’s Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler and Barenboim-Said Akademie, now transitioning to Parisian academia while maintaining active international masterclasses.
Ms. Careddu’s artistic collaborations include the Kammerakademie Potsdam (Opus Prize-winning ensemble) and founding membership in the Alban Berg Ensemble Wien. She regularly performs at major festivals such as Salzburg Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, and Styriarte, blending solo, orchestral, and chamber music engagements.
Her awards reflect both artistic excellence and institutional recognition, including jury roles at Concours de Genève and Prague Spring Competition. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes technical mastery alongside expressive interpretation, shaping future generations of flutists through rigorous pedagogy.
