Silke van Dyk

Dr. Silke van Dyk serves as Professor of Political Sociology and Head of Political Sociology at Friedrich Schiller University Jena, within the Faculty of Social and Behavioral Sciences and the Institute of Sociology.

For the upcoming Winter Semester 2025/26, Dr. van Dyk will be teaching courses on Sociology of social inequality, political polarization dynamics, and the crisis of factuality in political discourse. Her course offerings suggest an active research program addressing current democratic challenges regarding social divisions, media ecosystems, and the nature of factual discourse in politics.
