Siham Bouamer is Associate Professor of Global French at the University of Cincinnati, specializing in 20th-21st century French and Francophone literature/film with focus on colonial/postcolonial contexts and transnational movements involving the Maghreb. Research examines French imperial legacies in Morocco through travel narratives and contemporary intersectional oppression in France through migration, gender, and queer studies.
As co-founder of the Diversity, Decolonization, and the French Curriculum collective, she develops decolonial and anti-racist pedagogical approaches. Education includes Ph.D. from Washington University in St. Louis (2016). Current grant support includes the Villa Albertine program for Undergraduate Research Journal in Francophone Global Studies (2025-2028).
