Sibylle Adam is a Professor in the Department of Nutrition and Home Economics at Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (Faculty of Life Sciences). Her expertise spans nutrition science, public health nutrition, and behavioral economics, with a focus on nudging strategies in communal catering and dietary behavior. She has led multiple research projects on sustainability, health promotion, and cognitive performance.
Her recent research emphasizes nudging for healthier food choices, micronutrient impacts on cognition, and social media trends in nutrition. Articles highlight interventions in school cafeterias, pandemic-era dietary adjustments, and long-term obesity treatment outcomes. She has supervised over 150 bachelor’s theses and 20 master’s theses.
Adam is a member of the German Nutrition Society (DGE), the Professional Association of Oecotrophologists (VDOE), and serves on the ethics committee at HAW Hamburg. She collaborates internationally, including with the University of the West of Scotland and Paderborn University.
