Dr. Si Transken is an Associate Professor in the Department of Social Work at the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC), Prince George campus. She holds a PhD and MA from the University of Toronto, and a BA Honours and BSW from Laurentian University. Her work focuses on feminist social work, anti-racism, expressive arts therapy, and issues related to violence against women. She teaches courses in social work, gender studies, and creative research methods. Her private practice, Trans/Formative Services, supports women navigating systemic oppressions.
