Shunrui Luo is a Research Fellow at the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL) in the Atomic Structure-Composition of Materials Group under the P. Ferreira Research Group. She holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering and Technology from Chongqing University (China) completed in 2020, with additional research experience at the Georgia Institute of Technology (USA) during her doctoral studies.
Her research spans critical areas in advanced materials:
- Nanomaterial synthesis and growth mechanisms
- Cathode materials development for energy storage
- Oxygen electrodes in reversible protonic ceramic electrochemical cells (r-PCECs)
- Advanced electron microscopy techniques, particularly EELS analysis
- PGM and non-PGM catalysts for thin-film batteries
Dr. Luo leverages cutting-edge electron microscopy to investigate catalyst interfaces and battery materials, driving innovation in sustainable energy technologies through precise structural and compositional characterization.
