Shreya Sinha is a Senior Lecturer in Business and Society at Queen Mary University of London's School of Business and Management. She holds a PhD in Development Studies from SOAS University of London and has conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Cambridge. Her work focuses on India’s agrarian political economy, labor relations, and ecological dimensions of rural change, with global South comparisons.
Dr. Sinha has taught at institutions including the University of Reading, LSE, and SOAS. She co-directs the Centre on Labour Sustainability and Global Production (CLaSP) and is a member of the QMUL South Asia Forum. Her research spans agricultural commodity markets, rural labor dynamics, and environmental impacts of agrarian practices.
Her recent work includes analyses of Punjab’s agrarian crisis, farmer protests, and the socio-ecological contradictions in coastal agriculture. She has published in World Development, Third World Quarterly, and Journal of Agrarian Change, among others. She is an editor of the Journal of Agrarian Change and has contributed to media outlets like The Conversation and BBC Radio.
Dr. Sinha’s awards include Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy/Advance HE. She co-supervises PhD candidates and actively engages in public discourse on agrarian issues, bridging academic research with policy and societal impact.
