Shiv N. Persaud is an Associate Professor at the College of Law, Florida A&M University (FAMU), where he teaches Administrative Law and Criminal Law. His extensive professional background includes service as a state agency attorney, assistant public defender, assistant state attorney, and sole practitioner, bringing practical legal insight into the classroom.
His research and academic focus center on cultural competence in legal education and promoting equity in legal practice. In 2012, he became the founding faculty member of the Marshall-Bell Law Society, a student-led organization dedicated to enhancing cultural sensitivity in legal education and honoring the legacies of Thurgood Marshall and Derrick Bell.
