Sheri Duffy, DSW, LCSW, holds the position of MSW Program Director and Professor of Social Work at Louisiana Christian University (LCU). She also serves as the Erroll Dawson Jr. Distinguished Professor in Social Work. Her roles include prior leadership as Chair of the Human Behavior Division and QEP Planning Committee Chair. Dr. Duffy earned her DSW from the University of St. Thomas, MSW from Louisiana State University, and BA in Psychology from LCU.
Her research and teaching focus on clinical social work, ethics, child welfare, and human behavior. She has presented at conferences such as NACSW and CSWE, addressing topics like religious affiliation and professional identity. Dr. Duffy has over 16 years of field experience in public and private agencies across Louisiana, South Carolina, and Arkansas, specializing in work with children, teens, and families. She also taught as an adjunct at LSU’s School of Social Work and served as a field placement liaison.
Active in professional organizations, she is a member of the Council on Social Work Education, NACSW, and Phi Alpha. Her contributions include co-authoring LCU’s QEP document (2011) and the BSW reaffirmation self-study (2012). Dr. Duffy’s teaching spans courses like Advanced Practice, Social Work Ethics, and Human Behavior & Social Environment.
