Shenika Jones, PhD, is a Clinical Associate Professor and Program Director of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at Saint Joseph's University. Previously, she served as an Associate Professor and Director of the Professional School Counseling Program at the University of North Carolina-Pembroke, where she attained tenure in 2020. Her work focuses on culturally responsive counseling, K-12 student mental health, and LGBTQ+ advocacy. She has held leadership roles including North Carolina Counseling Association President (2019) and faculty senator for the College of Health Sciences.
Education: PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from UNC Charlotte (2013), MEd in School Counseling and Development from Winthrop University (2008), BS in Health and Physical Education from Winthrop University (2006).
Research Interests: Jones emphasizes evidence-based interventions for K-12 populations, school safety initiatives, and promoting inclusive environments for LGBTQ+ students. She has developed programs addressing bullying prevention, social skills training, and community safety through partnerships with schools and organizations.
