Shelley Kierstead is an Assistant Professor at Osgoode Hall Law School, York University. She has been affiliated with Osgoode since 1993, initially teaching Legal Research and Writing (LRW) and later serving as Director of the LRW program from 2002. Her academic journey includes an LLB from the University of New Brunswick (UNB), an LLM from the University of Toronto, and a PhD from Osgoode Hall Law School.

Her research focuses on Family Law, Access to Justice, and Dispute Resolution, with additional work in Conflict of Laws. She has contributed to public law initiatives through Osgoode’s Centre for Public Law and Public Policy.
Since 1997, she has coordinated the Parent Information Program, a resource for separating parents. She supervises graduate research in LLM and PhD programs.
