Sheeraz Alvi

Dr. Sheeraz Alvi is a Research Fellow at the ANU School of Engineering developing wireless solutions for IoT networks under Associate Professor Nan Yang. His current projects include federated learning for wireless systems and satellite communication modeling for ANU-Optus Bushfire Research Centre.

Alvi's research spans adaptive resource allocation, terahertz spectrum management, and privacy-preserving machine learning in distributed networks. Recent publications address UAV-assisted monitoring, wildfire detection systems, and fairness optimization in heterogeneous networks.

As co-investigator for bushfire detection projects, Alvi designs ground-based IoT sensor networks for early fire detection. His work bridges theoretical communication models with environmental monitoring applications.
