Sharyl Toscano

Dr. Sharyl Toscano is a tenured Professor at University of Alaska Anchorage School of Nursing with RN certification in pediatrics. She maintains clinical practice at Alaska Native Medical Center Pediatrics and NICU while serving on Alaska State Board of Nursing and national regulatory committees.

Research employs grounded theory, phenomenology, and poetic transcription to study adolescent health, teen dating violence, and family systems. Recent publications analyze patterns in abusive relationships and qualitative methodology.

Education credentials include a Ph.D. with Distinction from Boston College (2002), M.S. in Nursing from University of Massachusetts Lowell (1998), and B.S. in Nursing cum laude from University of Massachusetts Amherst (1994). Honors include Sigma Theta Tau membership and Dean’s Clinical Scholar recognition.
