Shane O. Slattery-Quintanilla

Shane Slattery-Quintanilla is Associate Professor of Film at Vassar College and an Emmy-nominated filmmaker. His documentaries examine underrepresented communities and social justice issues, notably The Seventh Fire (executive produced by Terrence Malick and Natalie Portman) exploring Ojibwe reservation life.

The Ballad of Esequiel Hernández (2008), investigating a US Marine's killing of a teenager, earned an Emmy nomination for investigative journalism. His artistic practice includes published poetry and multidisciplinary collaborations through the Nomadique Arts Collective.
