Shan Mohammed is an Associate Professor, Teaching Stream at the Lawrence Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing, University of Toronto. He holds a PhD in Nursing Science (2014) and additional degrees in nursing and biology. His scholarship combines critical pedagogy with poststructural theory, focusing on end-of-life care dynamics.
Research foci include:
- Palliative care and family caregiver coordination
- Neoliberalism in healthcare systems
- Medicalization of dying and ethical implications
- Critical ethnography of clinical practices
Current affiliations span the Centre for Critical Qualitative Health Research and Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. His work addresses pandemic-era nursing challenges and power-knowledge systems shaping healthcare delivery.
