Shamit Saggar is a Professor of Public Policy and Political Science at the University of Western Australia (UWA), holding dual affiliations with the UWA Business School and the School of Social Sciences. He serves as Director of the UWA Public Policy Institute and an Honorary Research Fellow at the Africa Research and Engagement Centre. His career includes roles as Visiting Professor at King’s College London and Emeritus Professor of Political Science at the University of Essex.
Education: PhD and BA in Government from the University of Essex (1984, 1989). He has held senior academic and policy roles globally, including Directorships at the ESRC South-East Social Science Network and the Institute for Social and Economic Research.
