Shamini Chandran

Shamini Chandran is a part-time Lecturer in Business and Finance and Apprenticeship Support Link Tutor at the Claude Littner Business School, University of West London (UWL). She joined UWL in 2002 and is an alumnus of the institution. With over 20 years of teaching experience in higher education, she specializes in accounting, management accounting, taxation, and has taught on various postgraduate programs including MBA and MSc courses in Finance, Risk Management, Business Analytics, and Sustainability.

Her industry experience includes roles as a financial controller and company secretary, ensuring her teaching aligns with professional standards. She has held positions such as Education Manager at a UK payroll training company and examiner for A Levels and the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT). Shamini is a registered tutor for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales and has lectured internationally.

Active in vocational education, she has been a Level 4-7 apprenticeship tutor since 2017, advocating for trailblazer apprenticeships. She also volunteers as an environmental champion for the London Borough of Hounslow, focusing on sustainability initiatives. Her expertise spans e-learning platforms and work-based qualifications, with decades of online education experience prior to the pandemic.
