Sergio Rossi is an Associate Professor specializing in marine ecology and conservation at the University of Salento. His research examines climate change impacts on coastal benthic populations, marine invertebrate ecology, and restoration strategies for degraded ecosystems. As coordinator of the MAF WORLD COST Action (CA20102) and Horizon Europe's OCEAN CITIZEN project, he advances transnational protection of marine animal forests.
Rossi publishes extensively on coral reef vulnerability, trophic ecology, and sustainable aquaculture. His 170+ publications analyze biodiversity-ecosystem functioning relationships across Mediterranean, Antarctic, and tropical reefs, using field experiments and stable isotope techniques. He teaches Marine Biodiversity, Experimental Design, and Zoology Applied to Conservation.
