Serena Merrino is an Associate Professor (Teaching) at the School of Slavonic and East European Studies (SSEES), University College London (UCL). She coordinates the BA programme in Economics and Business and teaches courses in macroeconomics and political economy. Her research focuses on macroeconomic theory, financial institutions, climate change impacts, and social change. She holds a PhD from SOAS University of London (2019), an MSc in Macroeconomic Policy and Financial Markets from Barcelona GSE, and degrees from the University of Rome Tor Vergata and the Universidad Católica Argentina (Buenos Aires).
As a Fellow of the South African Reserve Bank (SARB), she researches the macroeconomic effects of climate change and participates in the Network for Greening the Financial System.
