Serena Hoermann

Serena Hoermann, Ph.D., MBA, serves as Interim Director of the Center for Urban and Environmental Solutions (CUES) and Associate Director within FAU's Department of Urban and Regional Planning. She also leads the FAU Partnership for Sustainable Communities and oversees the Urban Stories Festival, a storytelling initiative fostering community engagement. Her research focuses on community resilience, displacement, and climate adaptation. Previously, she coordinated the Florida Climate Institute under FAU's Center for Environmental Studies (CES), supporting climate outreach and community initiatives from 2014-2017.
