Sepideh Aliasghari

Dr. Sepideh Aliasghari is a Research Associate at the University of Manchester and Application Scientist at the Henry Royce Institute for Advanced Materials, with a visiting fellowship at Manchester Metropolitan University. She holds a BS in Chemistry and MS in Materials Science from Sharif University of Technology, and a PhD in Corrosion and Protection from the University of Manchester.

Her research focuses on surface engineering of lightweight metals, developing advanced coatings for corrosion and wear resistance, and utilizing characterization techniques to study degradation mechanisms. Core interests include:

• Nanostructured protective treatments
• Tribological performance optimization
• Porous metal morphologies

Her publications demonstrate specialization in polymer composites, nanocontainer-based smart coatings, and plasma electrolytic processes. Awards include a Marie Curie Fellowship and recognition as a Global Talent by the Royal Academy of Engineering.
