Semail Ülgen

Semail Ülgen is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Industrial Engineering at Antalya Bilim University since 2012. She holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Purdue University (2005) and a B.S. from Bilkent University (1995). Prior roles include Assistant Professor positions at the University of Mississippi (2004–2006), Grand Valley State University (2006), Northwestern University (2007–2010), and a visiting position at Indiana University (2011–2012).

Her research focuses on Finsler Geometry, Noncommutative Geometry, Stochastic Processes, and Online Mathematics Education. She has contributed to projects like TÜBİTAK 1001 (Einstein metrics in Finsler Geometry) and advised the Antalya Industrial 4.0 survey project (2017).

She received the 2006 Young Scientist Award and led teams in TÜBİTAK’s Electric Vehicle Competitions (2016–2020), achieving 25th place with two electric cars.
