Dr Sean Butler is a College Teaching Officer, Affiliated Lecturer, and Director of Studies in Law at St Edmund's College, University of Cambridge. He holds degrees including an MA from the University of Oxford (Oxon), an LL.M. and CPGS from Cambridge, and a Ph.D. from the University of London. His research focuses on Roman Law, Intellectual Property, Animal Rights Law, and Entrepreneurship, particularly interfacing with the Judge Business School.
Selected publications include Discovering the Law (2006) and A Guide to UK and EU Plant Variety Rights (2005). His work bridges historical legal frameworks with modern applications in innovation law and animal rights advocacy.
