Scott Walker

Scott Walker is a Senior Lecturer (fractional-time) at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), affiliated with the Finance Discipline Group within the Business School. His research focuses on corporate finance, particularly cash dividends distributed by listed firms in Australia and the United States. He holds a PhD in Finance from UTS, titled "Repeated Dividend Increases: A Collection of Four Essays". Walker has published extensively on dividend policies, investor behavior, and market reactions to corporate decisions. His funded research includes studies on CEO overconfidence and its impact on dividend decisions, as well as valuation challenges related to intangible assets.

Teaching expertise spans business finance, capital budgeting, and valuation. He has supervised research students and is available for Master’s or PhD supervision. Walker’s work bridges academic insights with practical finance challenges, addressing topics such as mergers & acquisitions sustainability, stock split dynamics, and dividend signaling effects.
