Scott Kuban is an Assistant Professor in the Strategy, Entrepreneurship & Venture Innovation Department at the Walton College of Business (ranked 15th in management research worldwide in 2024) at the University of Arkansas. He teaches strategic management and entrepreneurship courses while conducting research on how misconduct, politics, and relational networks impact strategic leadership and how technology is reshaping the nature of the firm.

Dr. Kuban's research focuses on the intersection of strategic leadership, organizational behavior, and technological change. His work examines how firms respond to misconduct, how CEO ideology influences corporate political activity, and how emerging technologies like blockchain are transforming traditional business models and governance structures. He has published in top-tier management journals including Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Management, and Academy of Management Annals.
His research portfolio includes sponsored projects funded by the Department of Defense and the National Institute of Standards and Technology on behalf of the Defense Production Act Committee's Telecom Study Group, which is co-chaired by the Department of Defense and the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.
Outside his academic work, Dr. Kuban serves on the board of a non-profit foundation and is a founding member of a business incubator focused on Web3. As an angel investor and entrepreneur himself, he actively engages with startup founders and brings practical experience to his teaching and research.
