Dr Scott Gordon serves as an Entrepreneurship Lecturer at the Entrepreneurship, Commercialisation, and Innovation Centre (ECIC) within the Adelaide Business School at the University of Adelaide. His academic appointment falls under the Faculty of Arts, Business, Law and Economics.
Dr Gordon brings diverse multi-disciplinary research experience spanning physical, biological and social sciences. Prior to his academic career, he spent over a decade as a practicing professional engineer with the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), where he developed innovative technologies for underwater remote sensing.
His research focuses on the intersection of entrepreneurship, innovation and strategy, specifically exploring:
- Nascent entrepreneurship and early start-up processes
- Organizational emergence and firm-ecosystem interactions
- Entrepreneurial behavior and mindset
- Strategic dimensions of entrepreneurial action
- Novel quantitative research methods for studying entrepreneurial processes
Dr Gordon is eligible to supervise Masters and PhD students, with research interests emphasizing behavioral and strategic aspects of entrepreneurship as well as the interactions between emerging organizations and their ecosystems.
