About
Scott Deibel is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of New Brunswick. He holds a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Lethbridge, an MSc in Experimental Psychology from Memorial University of Newfoundland, and a BSc (Hons.) in Psychology from the same institution. His office is located in Keirstead Hall 109 on the Fredericton campus.
Dr. Deibel's research investigates circadian rhythms and their impact on physiology and behavior, with emphasis on memory impairment mechanisms, disease etiology, mood, aggression, cognition, sleep, brain activity, and aging. His laboratory employs both qualitative and quantitative techniques in humans (e.g., hormone concentration, core-body temperature) and collaborates internationally on animal models and computational neuroscience with Memorial University, University of Lethbridge, and University of Göttingen.
He received the Postdoctoral Fellowship from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada in 2018. His work bridges experimental psychology, neurobiology, and clinical applications to understand how circadian disruptions contribute to neurodegenerative and psychiatric conditions.
