Dr. Scott D Ryan is a Full Professor and former 14-year Dean of the University of Texas at Arlington's School of Social Work. He holds dual roles as Editor of Adoption Quarterly and Director of the Center for Clinical Social Work. With a PhD from Case Western Reserve University, he specializes in child welfare, adoption, and social justice. His leadership expanded UTA's social work program to the largest in Texas, securing over $15M in grants. Ryan’s research focuses on adoption policy, LGBTQ+ families, and foster care disparities, with over 60 publications.
