Scott Burris, Ph.D., is a Professor and Department Chair of the Department of Agricultural Education and Communications at Texas Tech University's College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources. Since joining TTU in 2005, he has specialized in agricultural education and played a pivotal role in teacher preparation programs, supervising student teachers and teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses.

Burris's research focuses on teaching and learning in agricultural education, with emphasis on instructional delivery methods and teacher development. His work bridges secondary and post-secondary educational practices, informed by his experience as a former secondary teacher.
He has received multiple accolades for his teaching and research excellence, including the Chancellor's Council Distinguished Teaching Award, CASNR Teaching Award, President's Excellence in Teaching Award, and the Distinguished Research Award from the American Association of Agricultural Education (Western Region). He was also recognized as an Integrated Scholar at Texas Tech and received the President's Mid-Career Faculty Award.
