Saurra Heide

Saurra Heide serves as an Associate Professor of Education at George Fox University's School of Education. She transitioned to a full-time faculty role in 2016 after serving as associate director of clinical practices and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2023. Her academic journey at George Fox includes earning her EdD in 2017, MEd in 2009, and bachelor's degree in elementary education in 2006.

Her research and professional interests center on P-20 instructional design and development, with a focus on elementary education, special education, gifted education, and behavioral interventions such as Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports. She has extensive practical experience in K-12 settings, having taught second through fourth grades and coordinated the Talented and Gifted program in the Greater Albany Public School District prior to joining George Fox.

Dr. Heide's background combines academic scholarship with hands-on teaching experience, enriching her contributions to teacher education and curriculum development at George Fox University.
