Sarah Hörst

Sarah Hörst is Associate Professor of Planetary Science at Johns Hopkins University's Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, with affiliations at the Hopkins Extreme Materials Institute and Space Telescope Science Institute. Her laboratory research investigates atmospheric chemistry in planetary environments, particularly Titan's complex organic haze formation.

Education includes:

• Ph.D. in Planetary Sciences, University of Arizona (2011)
• B.S. in Planetary Science & Literature, California Institute of Technology (2004)

Research combines experimental simulations (cloud chamber experiments), spacecraft data analysis, and modeling to understand atmospheric processes in solar system bodies and exoplanets. Current projects examine haze formation in exoplanet atmospheres and Titan's surface-atmosphere interactions.

Dr. Hörst directs the Meyer Lab, supervising graduate students in projects ranging from Titan sand triboelectrification to exoplanet atmospheric characterization. She serves as Senior Editor at Organization Studies and participates in NASA mission teams including Dragonfly.
