Sarah Hartley

Professor Sarah Hartley is a Professor of Technology Governance at the University of Exeter and an Honorary Principal Fellow. Her work focuses on qualitative studies of science and technology governance, emphasizing inclusive approaches in global health, sustainable agriculture, and conservation.

Research Interests include governance of emerging technologies like gene drive, cross-sector collaboration, and risk governance frameworks across international contexts. Her current projects, funded by the British Academy and Wellcome, examine gene drive applications in conservation and public engagement in Africa, North America, Australia, and Europe.
