Sarah Bloomer

Sarah Bloomer is a Visiting Professor of Design at Olin College of Engineering and Academic Director of SCOPE. She combines hands-on industry experience with academic leadership, teaching courses like Collaborative Design and Products & Markets since joining Olin in 2012.

• Education: M.A. in Interaction Design (New York University), A.B. in Music (Smith College)

Her research focuses on user experience (UX) design, product strategy, and organizational UX maturity. She pioneered user-centered design practices in Australia through The Hiser Group and continues consulting via Sarah Bloomer & Co., specializing in UX team coaching, design facilitation, and product development.

Advising highlights include mentoring UX professionals globally through workshops and serving as a master’s supervisor at RMIT. Her career spans roles at Citibank, The MathWorks, Constant Contact, and Forrester, with a recurring emphasis on transforming UX practices into customer-focused strategies.
